Even more will be demolished in Wilhelmshaven, also the two T-750 bunkers at the Banter See will be demolished. Some bunker enthousiasts from Wilhelmshaven will try to convert one of them into a museum. And because the demolishing company is allready in Wilhelmshaven, they will probaly also demolish a Luftschutturm.

Hi my name is Angelo Page I live in Durban South Africa. I have 15 post card size paintings painted by Ernst Vollbehr. From 1914. These have never been seen. The painting were given to me by my mother about 10 years ago. Looking to sell them. If anyone is interested I can send email you photo’s. contact me via email- angelo.page@arcsteel.co.za
Very interesting. Why the cupola is mentioned as 817P5? I thought it is 773P4 or 772P4.
Are there any information about the fate of the cupola? I didn’t receive the permission to read the French forum, mentioned above.

Hi Ondrej,
Thanks for your comment. I’m still figuring out the exact designation. 772P4/773P4 which we stated on bunkersite.com seems the old designation for the cupolas, before they were converted for use with one MG-34. Several converted Czech turrets (both 200/300mm, 3/4/5 original embrasures) have code numbers in the 8xxP5 range.
I think the turret was cut up in pieces?
If you ask yourself about what people do with “ventilators, stoves, electrical boxes and wiring, telephone equipment” its collecting (for me however). Yes it’s stealing for some, for us its rescuing. (its the same for metaldetecting however) We can’t deny this, but the goverments dont care (but i have the feeling this is slowly turning). But when you’re talking about illegal activity’s in our hobby, then notice that entering every bunker without permission is a crime! even when they are open. This is called sneaking and they are threatened the same as a break in.
But about breaking out fresco’s and drawnings, please count me in by those who don’t understand the reasons!
Aargh, one of our first bunker-site’s when we start with our beautifull hobby… a real loss!

I don’t think it’s the same as metal detecting because I think the founds in the ground are not really attached to that ground. Of course the governments don’t care, of course ‘somebody else will take it’ if you don’t, but all this talking about ‘it ends up in a museum’. Where are all those items then, that were taken all these years? You could fill up 100s of museums.. I see every bunker as an open air museum, unfortunately less and less original fittings remain. Thanks for your compliments!

Have just seen some of Herv’e Olejniczak pictures of the destruction of Stp Pommern on Axis history forum.
What a sad sight, these bunkers were a part of modern day history and now are only memories.
Thankfully we have historians who have worked with local goverment and have been able to preserve Atlantic Wall fortifications along the French and Belguim coast for future generations to see, sadly Wissant has lost a piece of its history forever.

This famous historical building was the site of the first white flag to fly inside Germany in WW2. It was exactly here that the Nazis, ordered to fight till the end, surrendered making Aachen, the Kaiser Stadt and symbolic home of germanic cultutre surrendered to the Allies.
I do not understand how this bunker is not under heritage protection?! And, therefore i am signing this petition in protest against it being destroyed to make room for more civic housing!
