The guys of Festung Guernsey are doing a great job again. This time they’ve managed to get the protective armoured plate in front of Wn Schonbucht Mitte casemate’s embrasure in working order. Watch this nice vid by Steve Powell. More info on the excavation and cleaing up of the bunker here.

Another take away piece

A loose embrasure for a 4.7cm Festungspak is ready to be picked up on Jersey. You only have to get it down first. Maybe it’s something for the guys up Le Portel near Boulogne-sur-Mer who demolished a 631 to get the whole gun out. Or should it go back to the original owners, the Czech. […]

Birthday present

Not exactly on my birthday today, but I’ll consider it as a brithday present from the Festung Guernsey guys. 🙂 Last sunday they’ve excavated the Vf bunker for Sechsschartenturm of Stp Reichenberg, Fort Richmond on Guernsey. Buried for years it appeared to be in great shape with some very nice relics. It looks like the […]

The bunker type 633 was hidden under the parking place at Fort Hommet. It has been opened some 25 years ago but now Festung Guernsey will keep it open […]

The soldiers who manned Stp. Corbiere

Malcolm Amy, volunteer for the Channel Islands Occupation Society (CIOS) on Jersey, began publishing the accounts of three German soldiers who were assigned to Stp Corbiere on the island. It gives a highly interesting inside look into the daily life in and around the bunkers during the occupation. You can follow the story on The […]

Bunkersite.com starts BunkerBlog

Every day I watch several forums from all over Europe to see what’s happening in the bunker community. It’s a time consuming business but well worth the time because without it I wouldn’t have known about restauration projects in Poland, demolitions in Norway, dug up bunkers in Holland or any other activity in Europe on the […]
